Culture
Jarocin has a colourful cultural tradition. The famous opera singer Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, performing on the stage of La Scala in Milan, was born here. For many years Jarocin had been a venue for the major Polish rock festival - Rock Music Festival.
Nowadays cultural activities are implemented by local institutions of culture: the Regional Museum, the Municipal Public Library of Jarocin, the Jarocin Culture Centre and a number of associations. The most active associations include The Association of Folk Culture Lovers "Snutki", promoting folk culture and Jarocin XXI Association, involved in activities related to theatre, underground music and cinema, as well as the Music Association in Jarocin, promoting classical music.
Each year Jarocin becomes a venue for the very colourful International Folk Festival, National Arts Presentations for the Disabled Children and the Organ and Chamber Music Festival inspired by the "Passion" by J.S. Bach.
